Japanese Incense
Japanese incense is said to be the finest and most exclusive in the world.
Japanese incense is not just incense
In Japan, incense is called ‘Koh’ and for over 1400 years the Japanese have used Koh for spiritual enrichment and as a reminder of peace and contemplation in a busy day. Koh is like the scent of flowers – it brings contact with the non-physical in existence. It cleanses the body and mind and removes bad energies in a room. It brings calm to large gatherings, it keeps you alert in meditation, and it helps you experience the joy of being alone.
Meditative fragrances
Incense came to Japan via China, where Buddhism was part of a highly developed tradition of using scents in spiritual practice. This fusion of Buddhism and incense reached Japan in the 6th century, where they were already adept at taking an outside impulse and refining it. Over time, the culture of incense and the craftsmanship surrounding it developed to the sublime, and Japanese incense is today the purest and finest in the world.
